An off-track Thoroughbred in transition
2010 dark bay gelding by Malibu Moon out of Brush of Fortune (Kentucky)
Pictured here with his friend Hall of Fame jockey Julie Krone, Malibu Master was trained by Phil Serpe. He earned $2,600 but did place in his three starts under jockey Jose Lezcano.
While his short stint on the track revealed he is not cut out to be a racehorse, in the wise words of another feisty, exuberant and “difficult” soul, Maria from The Sound of Music, “When the Lord closes a door, somewhere He opens a window.”
For Malibu, that window was his new view on the world from his pasture at Long Shadows Farm and the new positive outlook he’s gained from learning via the Parelli natural horsemanship methods used in ACTT Naturally’s programs.
Just because he wasn’t a winner on the track doesn’t mean this dashing dark bay isn’t a champ.
