The Honorable Martha Farnsworth Riche served as Director of the U.S. Census Bureau between 1994 and 1998. A fellow of the American Statistical Association, she is affiliated with the Cornell Population Center. Her current work focuses on the impact of demographic diversity on organizations, particularly in the U.S. military, where she has addressed the integration of women into the armed forces.

While at the Census Bureau, Marty joined Hampshire Racing, a Laurel (MD)-based syndicate. Subsequently, she participated in two syndicates of the well-known English group, Highclere Thoroughbred Racing, to learn how horses are raised and raced in Europe. Currently, she is a member of the Saratoga-based Mosaic Racing, which is a pioneer in “responsible ownership.”
