We at ACTT Naturally are honored to welcome Julie Krone to our Board of Directors.
Julie Krone won 3,705 races during an illustrious riding career, which saw her set records not just for a woman, but for all riders. Her list of injuries would have stopped most but Julie kept coming back.
She was inducted into the Cowgirl Hall of Fame in 1999, and in 2000, Julie became the first woman to be inducted into the Thoroughbred Racing Hall of Fame. Her accomplishments led her to The National Women’s Hall of Fame and the Michigan Hall of Fame. The champion jockey is noted for her compassion for both horses and people. Despite the injuries and the PTSD that followed, Julie’s passion for horses continued. She stepped away from riding races into working as a racing analyst, motivational speaker, conducting clinics and private tutoring. Her next Hall of Fame is almost certainly going to be affixed to her participation in Parelli Natural Horsemanship.
Julie lives in Carlsbad CA with her husband Jay Hodvey, a columnist for the Daily Racing Form and their beautiful daughter Lorelei.Read More
