Mechanicville High School Students set to attend ACTT Naturally’s Teen Leadership Program

ACTT Naturally Thoroughbreds and Mechanicville High Students Team Up in Cambridge NY

Beginning May 6, Mechanicville NY High School students will participate in a Teen Leadership Program with ACTT Naturally, a Washington County, rehabilitation and retraining program for off-track Thoroughbreds. The program lasts five weeks and imparts communication skills, self esteem, and empathetic leadership while teaching horsemanship and horse care at Long Shadows Farm in Cambridge, NY.

The program is the second of its kind for ACTT Naturally and it is funded in large part with a donation by renown Thoroughbred trainer and Mechanicville High School graduate Chad Brown.

“I am very excited and happy to support this meaningful program ” said Chad Brown. “It is great to be helping both the students from my school and the Thoroughbreds who will participate.”

ACTT Naturally launched the Teen Leadership Program with East Greenbush High School and Mechanicville will be the second high school to participate.

“The first program was a great success,” said Valerie Buck, Program Director of ACTT Naturally. “We are thrilled to have the Mechanicville teens and so grateful for Chad Brown’s support to make it happen.”
